In The Footsteps of Prophets

I had two dreams.  One was to run a program for boys (which had a lot to do with the fact that I dedicated a lot of time to Girl Guides last year).  The other was to develop a curriculum to teach children about the lessons which can be taken from the lives of the greatest men who walked the face of the earth – the Prophets of Allah.  One day I decided to combine the two and came up with the Boys Club – In the Footsteps of Prophets.

The idea is to meet weekly, with the guidance and supervision of my husband.  The boys will study the lives and incorporate hands on activities to keep them engaged.  I am developing lesson plans, badge requirements and fact sheets for each prophet, in chronological order.  InshaAllah I will document our journey and request you keep these boys in your duas.  In the future we plan on expanding to reach more children – stay tuned!

First Meeting – Getting to know each other and guest speaker Sh Daood Butt who gave us an intro to why it important to study the lives of the Prophets.

Adam AS Unit – Boys learned about the arrogance of Shaytaan which caused him to fall. They did presentations to demonstrate what is arrogance and how to avoid it. Two of our members live overseas and one of them made a comic story out of lego figures. The boys watched the story during our meeting.
