The days drag on, but the years fly by.

Oh how true it is that the days drag on, but the years fly by.

You are now eleven, eight and five.  I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that I used to have three babies under six.  SubhanaAllah.

Yusuf, my dear Yusuf.  We celebrated your birthday last week.  We continued our tradition of taking the birthday child out alone with both myself and Baba. Im so happy we started this because as a homeschooling family especially, it’s hard to get alone time in!  You chose to go to an Escape Room and all-you-can-eat Sushi! Alhamdulilah we had a great time and we are so proud of the boy you have grown to be.  You are smart and intuitive.  You are a sponge soaking up the world around you and even though that can be really scary at times, you are ready to take it on.  Thank you for being you.

Ibraheem, my sweet Ibraheem.  You’re growing so fast.  You were our miracle baby and you have brought so much light into our lives. You make us laugh and you have a heart of gold.  I know as a mother I tend to give more attention to your older and younger siblings … Yusuf, because I expect more from him, and Summaiya because she can be so demanding. But know that you are just as equally special and never overlooked.  You are such a lovable big brother and little brother. Thank you for being you.

Summaiya, my darling Summaiya.  You have shown me a world I didn’t know existed.  Mothering a daughter is such a unique journey and I am grateful that we are on it together. I love the connection we have, and I love how you just get me.  You’re my little mini me but at the same time you are such a unique and strong individual.  You know what you want and though there are times this drives me crazy, I have full faith in you that you will not let anything get in your way of accomplishing great things.  Thank you for being you.

I started blogging before I was even pregnant and I have had an off n on relationship with it since.  However, homeschooling you three now as you get older has become more time consuming.  I miss blogging so much, mainly because I love having it as something we can look back on.  I love recording our journey together and hope one day when you’re all much older you will look back as well.

The beginning of a calendar year always seems like a good time to make commitments … so here I am committing myself back to blogging a little more often than I have been.

I love you three to pieces.

You are the reason I do what I do.

Love,

Momma
